LANGA SK8 THE INFINITY MOVIE
Langa goes on a monologue where he unapologetically admits all of this to Reki, making him completely flustered, but Reki agrees that he wants to skate with Langa for infinity.Īlso? It followed so many romance movie tropes. Once he caught up to Langa, the two skateboarded together, with Langa confirming what we already knew-he enjoys skateboarding the most when he’s with Reki. REKI AND LANGA MADE UP BIG TIME! Reki came to terms with the fact that it’s okay that he isn’t like Langa and the others as long as he’s enjoying skateboarding. Here what you need to know about episodes ten and eleven in regards to our two leads before we get to the finale. That nifty article goes into detail about what’s so great about Reki and Langa, at least up to episode nine.

miko ❥ reki kyan’s manager April 3, 2021įor a quick guide on the main ships of the series, you can check out this write-up here (though admittedly, my new budding ship of Manager Oka and Shadow isn’t there because I didn’t realize I needed that until the finale). YES YES YES YES YES #SK8THEINFINITY #sk8 #SK8エスケーエイト /Bf1Rn5yVPt Yeah, we gotta talk about SK8 the Infinity’s finale, and how we Renga shippers (aka: those who ship the two leads, Reki Kyan and Langa Hasegawa) won big at S this last Saturday. Skateboarding may actually be a means of catharsis for Reki, hence why he isn't shown to be talented.I’ve gone on record saying that shipping and sports anime go together like two boys creating an infinity symbol with their fists to signify the fact that they’ll skate together forever. This may indicate that Reki wishes to be around the company of others as well as to stifle down his negative feelings more so than seeking improvement.

Reki doesn't show any particular interest in improving his skills as he's mostly shown to enjoy competing against others (like Shadow) despite losing each time. Reki shows his love for skateboarding through making skateboards from scratch and riding them, but perhaps it's merely a means to cope with his negative feelings. Reki is basically skating half-heartedly and his excitement towards skateboarding may perhaps be a mask to bury the memories about the incident with his childhood friend and his sadness. This may explain why Reki's skills in skateboarding lacks in comparison to Langa and the other skateboarders. I feel as though Reki holds some kind of deep feelings of sadness and emptiness over the loss of a friend and so has decided to live out his life like a puppet or shell of his former friend. Perhaps Reki wishes to make friends through skateboarding or maybe he's adopted skateboarding as his own hobby so as to keep the memories of his first friendship alive. So if Reki got into skateboarding because of his childhood friend, then wouldn't that suggest that Reki's only skateboarding on behalf of his childhood friend who got injured and quitted skateboarding? This may actually explain why Reki values friendship above his love for skateboarding as he's shown to go to great lengths to defend his friends (Miya) as well as teaching them about skateboarding (Langa). Theory about why Reki isn't as op in skateboarding as Langa (discussion) According to Reki's Wiki profile trivia, Reki only started skateboarding in the first place because his childhood friend begged him to.
